AUSTIN PETERSON 2016 -
Not only does he know what he is talking about -- he is also a great professor that really cares!
His book is definitely worth the read !!! -
Work construction or transport, can't ship those jobs overseas.

Anyone who believes America is a fair democracy based on meritocracy is smoking something very powerful. AMERICA IS AN OLIGARCHY. PERIOD!
-
>at the age of three you can see differences in cognitive ability
So the logic is 'some people are smarter than others so we need to kill rich people'
Nice one! As I was watching this I just imagined that this guy was one of the leaders of the movement that led to the events of Idiocracy. -
+DhukuB I agree that the government needs to be leaner. In the past the government allowed free enterprise and entrepreneurship to prosper but we have handcuffed the innovators and businessmen with regulations and taxes. My point is that I as a business owner gets lumped into the bankers and corporations on Wall Street who take huge risks and as a result the taxpayers pay for the bailouts and subsidies they get, but that's cronyism not capitalism. Those companies should have failed if they mess up. Nobody is going to help me because I'm not too big to fail. Government holds the power. If you limit the size and scope of government, then they won't have the power to give special favors to those corporations.

If you're not born into the "right family", that's too bad. You just need to work that much harder at success. Quit hating on those who have more than you. Go out and get yours.
We don't live in a magical left wing utopia where everyone is equal. That's been tried. Only poor students of history think that system works. Hell. I don't even want to level the proverbial playing field. That's the price we pay in a free society!! -
Oligarch America.
Your country is by far the most corrupt in the world. -
And this is why you should ALL vote for Bernie Sanders

I'm in favor of better incoming equality, But the points made in the first three minutes are terrible. So what if the kids of rich people are more likely to go to colleges like Harvard/Yale, when Studies show more expensive colleges and generate higher debt without proportionally increasing eventual earning potential.
Regarding the children of rich people having advantages, would David and the guest suggest that parents not bestow advantages to their children when they are able to do so?
There are many areas where policies could improve income equality. But demonizing the idea of parents trying to help their kids is definitely not going to be a good starting point. -
I thought Progressives said Obama fixed the economy?
-
Service economy is going to disappear too, you're already seeing it with self serve tellers in retail and fast food.
The question is quickly becoming what happens to the companies who are producing everything when no one has any money to buy it when their own automation put the people out of work? -
+Chris Tubestinks You have made a great argument for a flat tax system for corporations. I own a business yet I don't have the resources to incorporate in other countries to pay less in tax. Should I be entitled of those loopholes? I don't outsource my capital or employees. The problem is blanket policies are ineffective partially because they are done under a political pretense in the name of promoting fairness. Every business is different and you can't just throw out minimum wage increase to 15 bucks an hour and expect the business community to say hold on a second.

The US wants to own patents and copyrighted stuff and have the rest of the world pay royalties, lean back and relax. Rent seeking models.

Given a chance any group will skew the rules to their favour. Just look at what unions have been doing for years.
Its odd how you say unions are doing good but the rich are doing bad when they are doing the same thing. -
Our economy is also skewed to those who are educated...
-
Victor Tan Chen liberal nonsense, treating effects and not causes. This guy is a professor? Causes? 1) Free fractional reserve lending, creates wealth inequality mathematically - rich can leverage poor can not (70% of the problem). 2) Trade deals - free flow of products but controlled labor - creates a 40-year labor arbitrage bubble. 3) Equal market access - those who wish more should pay for the right (just like paying for the extra space at the flea market). And finally 4) Tax fraud/tax havens. Fix this and all the issues discussed go away. Creating a social state will just go the way of Greece and soon the rest of the EU.

man this guy's annoying to listen to..

Once again the argument that David and his guests make is for more government. When the government sucks all the capital out of the private sector, the economy shrinks. Manufacturing left the US because of high taxes. They refuse to acknowledge this point. America was founded upon the basis where people could pay less taxes, not more.
