For many of these people, I agree it is probably better to leave California, a state so desperate for revenue they charge $500 for a speeding ticket, claiming that the upper middle class/rich drive so who cares what they think.

I think more people should consider returning to a more simpler way of life living in the woods off grid. The way things are it's just unrealistic to pay 1000$ a month in rent being able to rent out a place is the new middle class of america. I'm considering moving to the woods in a stealth camp keep quit and make a effort to go deep in the wilderness you will likely be left alone.
As it is now I have had a job for 4 years but could not afford to move out the only reason I have a place to stay is because I live with my parents but if not for that I would have no choice but to move to the woods. Once my parents are gone I likely will not have a place to stay having a job is just not enough any more.
