An exclusive interview with Philippe Legrain. Phillipe Legrain is an economist, author, commentator and adviser to some of the world's most important figures. A specialist in economic issues facing Europe, he has authored books on immigration, globalisation and the world in the wake of the financial crisis. He has also written for a range of publications, including the the Guardian, the FT, the Wall Street Journal, the Times, the Independent and the New Statesman, and appeared on the BBC and Fox as an analyst. Phillipe currently serves as an adviser to Jose Manuel Barroso, head of the European Commission, and has previously advised Mike Moore, director-general of the WTO. An ardent supporter of the Euro, he was chief economist and later director of policy at Britain in Europe, the UK pressure group, and a visiting fellow at the LSE's European Institute. As tensions in Europe look set to come to a head and the debate on immigration rages on, 2013 ought to be an interesting year for Philippe.
