Jesus Christ was the head of all the nations and Filipinos are already under Christianity for almost 500 years after Spains colonialism. If they remain faithful to God then God would bless them.

I was recently in the Philippines for my 5 weeks vacation, and I was disgusted how dirty the surroundings was and the number of people sleeping along the Manila streets. Let alone the never- ending traffic and lack of side-walks. I managed to deal with it, day in and day out. Manila Bay is basically a canal. It appears that Filipinos and those in the government are lacking environmental awareness. We are truly left behind by other Asian neighbors just in terms of cleanliness. My experience doesn't support what the Dept. of Tourism says "There's more fun in the Philippines."---It is false.

Only Jesus can create Philipine become modern country. and we hope Philipine people are always praying and worshiping God. Never left Jesus, like European people had done.

Good job Philippines! Vietnam is getting there too.

Philippine economy has shown to be very resilient to external shocks primarily because it is not dependent primarily on exports of goods but more on service oriented plus the billions of dollars from OFW's.The Filipinos now have more spending money thus it is consumption driven from food, clothing, house, condo and other basic needs that before filipinos cant afford. I think the Philippines has a good balance mix of different economic sector growing together rather than be totally dependent on exports that are prone to external shocks like currency fluctuations and economic conditions of its trading partners like the euro ecominc crisis and poor US economy.
