It's pretty easy get up to the speed you want to be at go. 5 mph over sppeed limit an let off the the pedal completely and the gently push gas pedal until no arrows are seen I was very around 60 yesterday trying it out the first time and we have cold weather so I'm sure I would have been better

your 84 mpg is nice, but not valid because you had only driven 21 miles. i guarantee you by the time you hit the last "square" on your gas gauge your mpg was probably in the mid to upper 40's.

You are correct in that as you are forced to combine longer highway commutes your mileage will be reduced. I have had 500 mile tanks with over 62mpg though. The key there is to drive 55 to 57mph on the highway instead of 60mph (posted speed limit) or higher and tire pressures at least at 40psi. With some aeromods you can likely commute at 65mph and still achieve over 60mph. Aeromods would include partial grill blocks, full underbody tray and rear wheel well covers.

I hope I can figure this out lol. My new Prius will be in soon and the dealership doesn't seem to know much about how to improve mileage.
