Productivity and Growth: Crash Course Economics #6
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
Why are some countries rich? Why are some countries poor? In the end it comes down to Productivity. This week on Crash Course Econ, Adriene and Jacob investigate just why some economies are more productive than others, and what happens when an economy is mor productive. We'll look at how things like per capita GDP translate to the lifestyle of normal people. And, there's a mystery. Crash Course is on Patreon! I just love you guys. You people have made economics so easy and fun. Thanks

Actually, resources are a curse because they allow dictators to tax the resources instead of the people, and if the people aren't needed in order to get the revenue to keep the dictator in power then he has no incentive to invest in education or healthcare. Dictators with no resources must provide at least basic education/healthcare to his citizens or else they will be too sick or unproductive to tax. Resources are the worst thing that could happen to the people of countries that are not already solidly democratic.

The legacy of imperialism robbing plenty of the world in a one-way usurping of resources, flowing from the global south to the north. Can you place full blame on poor countries who still deal with the legacy of colonialism?

Oh, so absolutely no mention of colonialism, imperialism or imposition of ridiculous free market policies that contradict exactly what was done by developed countries? Yeah sure,. third world countries remain underdeveloped because of their very very horrible people who don't wanna be productive and are corrupt....Sure.

Lol to when an educational video casually throws in a conformist. inaccurate, and sexist "view-point" into an example of a completely factual idea. In reference to the 40 blouses because social boundaries require it.

If he was my teacher, I'd crush on him so hard, haha. XD
Question though, couldn't the increase in wages also be a result of cost of living adjustments and inflation? And, if the donut shop owner wanted to pay his workers more, couldn't he also increase the cost of the donuts? -
It is really sad to see the dropping amount of viewers, as after all it is a good video. I guess people just love quitting don't they

Not seen that in the comments, but you're confusing the WEB and the Internet. The internet "allows" computers to communicate with each others. The WEB is just a part of the Internet.
Also, you talk about corrupt local governments explaining the poverty of countries such as the zimbabwe, I think the US corporations and government as well as those from other countries are to some extent responsible for this. -
This man seems to have at least 2 AC DC belt buckles. Just an observation
