She is the author of several landmark books on globalisation including Teh Global City: New York, London, Tokyo (second edition 2001) and Cities in a World Economy (third edition 2003). A second edition of her award-winning book Territory, Authority, Rights: From Medieval to Global Assemblages came out in 2008.
