Professor Hu Angang on China in 2030

About the Speech: Professor Hu Angang, a leading consultant to the Chinese Government and one of the most influential public intellectuals in China, will discuss his vision of China's position in the world in 2030, where China is established as an economic superpower, as well as an innovative, high-income, green country with a more equitable society. He predicts that China will be the most powerful engine for economic development, a new donor of international development assistance and a country leading global transformation. About the speaker: Hu Angang is a professor at the School of Public Policy and Management and Director of the Center for China Study at Tsinghua University. He is the author of over sixty books, including the widely read Brookings publication, "China in 2020: A New Kind of Superpower" and his publication "China 2030: Towards Common Prosperity" is forthcoming in June 2012.
