Rainer Strack: The surprising workforce crisis of 2030 — and how to start solving it now
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
It sounds counterintuitive, but by 2030, many of the world's largest economies will have more jobs than adult citizens to do those jobs. In this data-filled — and quite charming — talk, human resources expert Rainer Strack suggests that countries ought to look across borders for mobile and willing job seekers. But to do that, they need to start by changing the culture in their businesses. So... am I the only one that feels like he sounds nearly identical to Doktor from Metal Gear Rising? It must be that wonderful accent.

heres important points ive discovered concerning population: btw im from 1985.
:not only are humans spawned into a situation where primitive animal ways have us programmed to breed as much as it can, we are in a especially hard test to overcome this because there is this thing called "government" that farms us to no end.
:i have noticed that the result of all this ugly population size is that we have and are loosing respect for ourselves, but is there any good about that? yes i think so, for one its good to be brought down to reality ego wize, and more importantly, it gives all mother nature and its creatures a "compliment" see.. we look down at bacteria or other multiplying animals, but we are now doing it too! so yeah, atleast we can have more sympathy for all life.
so, we have this unnatural question of who gets to breed right?, well thats what we need to focus on, a way of controlling the fucking population(pun intended) and reducing it, my thought is anyone that truly wants to go ahead and breed a litter, lol needs to first do a DMT trip and watch a bunch of david attenborough documentrys on life.
then they'll see they dont want to bring kids to this earth. arrgghh whatever, i hate u all substantially. -
Well, Brazil is fucked.

The insanity of this presentation is the unquestioning worship of economic growth, which many claim has destroyed 90% of all life forms on earth over the past 200 years. Insects are little more than 2 or 3 varieties of ants, mosquitoes, spiders, cockroaches, etc. The varieties of birds, mammals, fish, etc., the same. The average person needs stability, not constant "growth" backed by constant devaluation of wealth a.k.a. "inflation." The system is evil. The system is parasidic.

Ill take the population decline with its minor problems over all the major issues caused by the huge population increase we have now. This guys problems are only going to be big problems for rich people.
-
All those shortages are based on the need to fund social programs. Eliminate those programs, there are no shortages. Harsh but that is the real reality. We are trying to consume more than we are producing which is impossible regardless of growth or money printing/borrowing gimmicks.
-
So you reeducate and acquire new skills, then you find out there aren't any vacant places in the area you educated, so you have to take any filthy job available and reeducate again. And I think micro-college are bullshit. You still have to learn a lot, and the older one gets the harder/slower he learns.
-
Is this a joke? More jobs than people at the rate we are growing? We need to be worried about having basic resources for the billions of new people being born each decade. This is insane.
-
It's the chicken and the egg - and I believe this guys has it backwards.
We don't need more people to sustain growth - we needed the growth to sustain more people. There isn't room for infinite growth on this planet. -
this is only "bad" because humans in our age are reduced to being the disposable and replaceable cogs of a huge, hungry machine which needs them in endless supply...
his prediction that technology will create more jobs doesn't seem very well founded in light of all the things robots can already do nearly as well as humans today. why should there be anything left that only humans could do in friggin 2030 or beyond!? -
Great conference, thank you Mr. Strack !
-
You humans are fucked. Resource based economies and robots, redistribution, more laws, more government, infinite consumption, and never once looking at why there's a problem in the first place. It's you people who insist on teaching your children violence. you're fucked and gonna die miserably and you deserve it.

He addressed the very important need to forecast supply and demand of jobs. The government and the private sector do not want to address the problem now. I have been and educator for many decades and both the federal and state governments state that there is a teacher shortage and this is repeated by the media, teacher unions and others. How can there be a shortage when, in teaching (even in STEM), there are 400-500 applicants for every job and I live in the Twin Cities? Why do they promote erroneous information when the hiring situation for teachers is already a negative one. This problem will only get worse.!
-
Will demand for goods and serices increase per capita to create these new jobs- even as the workforce expires, or would the expiring workforce act to reduce the demand, and thus the need for more jobs. We are all hoping that technological efficiencies will increase leaving many more citizens free to create incomes in more creative ways than these standard jobs.

In an effort to thwart Germany's impending doom I say we all go to Berlin and partake in the worlds biggest orgy.

I didnt get a single thing from this other than he was proud to be born at a time when a lot of other people where born.

Well done for standing up for workers!
-
Why force people to labor for income? Let's decouple the link between labor and income. Automate as many jobs as can be automated and give people an Unconditional Basic Income. This would finally deal with the unemployment problem forever.

people here are so naive to think that money and food just fall from the sky.
a broken system? free market is the best system so far. -
