RISE OF CHINA - GLOBAL SUPERPOWER (Full Documentary)
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
Fueled by decades of rapid economic growth and a desire to secure its security interests, China has embarked on a large-scale modernization of its military. President Xi Jinping (who also heads China’s Central Military Commission) has instituted extensive military reforms aimed at streamlining command structures and improving Chinese military strength. China now boasts its first aircraft carrier, a credible fleet of both diesel and nuclear missile submarines, one of the largest air forces in the world, and over fifty intercontinental ballistic missiles. IS CHINA A MILITARY SUPERPOWER? A military superpower is a country that can project military power around the world to defeat or dominate another country…by this criteria my argument would be that China is not yet a military superpower and may not be one for quite some time China is fast becoming a scientific force to be reckoned with, says a new report published by Nature. The list, which ranks the world's institutions and countries according to their scientific output, puts China second only to the United States. The rankings are based on the number of high profile publications released last year. Why gene-editing revolution excites and worries scientists Canada ranked 7th, which, considering the difference in the sheer number of scientists compared with China or the U.S., is pretty impressive. The top institution in terms of publications was the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a massive engine of scientific growth in the country. It consists of hundreds of regional institutes and includes two universities. To put it in perspective for something us Westerners understand — it beat out Harvard. What is China investing in? The Chinese government has indicated it wants to invest energy and funds in brain research, gene science, big data and medical robots. But perhaps the most ambitious scientific project is the Chinese space program. The largest radio telescope in the world was recently built in southwestern China, and took only five years to complete. Those Chinese who wishes for American style democracy for China probably have no idea what they are asking for. I hope they realise it before it's too late.

The tone is serious and this is done from a suspicious angle. It is not clear the real intention. If the intention is run down on china, I guess this is not the true reflection on the ground. This video is very bias by moderating the interviews and asking cornering questions.

Representative government? Most western governments get 30-40% approval when they get in office and drop quickly to 15-20% afterward. Chinese know how to overturn their government. Don't worries. We've done it many time thru history.

The next superpower in waiting. go, China go!

You will never understand any country in the world without learning from its beginning. The US is simple to understand because 200 years doesn't get longer, while China has lived as 10 times longer so we understand why you foreigners cannot understand us. Haters will disagree没办法逼只能装到这儿了,中国好好干😂
-
Why there is so much fear about China's rise? It all boils down to the tyrannic nature of Christianity; to dominate, and to manipulate.

Western propaganda has succeeded to brainwash some of retarded so-called elites as some of those in Beida. They do NOT know what "democracy" really means and for. As I first landed in the states, I found out America was not what it had sell to outside world. Also, I figured out that "democracy" did not mean much for regular people in America but as a tool for exporting to other nations only. "democracy" is only a tool to vote and give people an delusion being represented .
What regular people really want is to have a good governance. "democracy" does NOT warrant that at all. 50% of the nations in this planet is so-called democracy, but only those old developed nations have relatively OK governance. Are those grumping and crying babes want to live in "democratic" India or Iraq or Afghanistan? To be honest, even if they have a chance to live in America, they may still bitch around.
CCP has her problems. However, I believe that she has done a great job to make China prosperous and strong and lift her people's live standard more than any other nations in human history. To be honest again, for those crying babes, your classmates, your friends, your parents, or your relatives ARE part of that CCP. You should be proud of them having done a collective great work. -
When will China apologise to Japan for being so racist and horrible to the Japanese in China for the last few decades. It's horrible, Chinese are so low

Talking only to students from a prestigious school does this documentary some injustice.

I think the contemporary Chinese political system is the one that might truly work. Now many democratic governments in the West fail and constantly face rebellion and oppositions from different groups, hence lowering the efficiencies of governments to carry out reforms. I was in the US for some time but did not see real democracy - the voices of the lower class workers are ignored and the medical bills are often ridiculously expensive. refugees/ illegal immigrants are everywhere causing crimes and violence. That's why Donald Trump is elected and it will be interesting to see if some good changes will be made.

The current political system in China may not be the best as compared to those political systems in the west. But as a Chinese who grows up in China and is living in a western country now, I really think that the western democracy does not fit China. Instead, I think the Singapore's model, the semi-democracy with elite people governing the society and country may be a better and practically achievable political system for China. The main reason drives me to think in this way is that we Chinese understand that our society and our country is definitely not mature enough to have full democracy. The fact is that China is still a developing country with millions of people who don't get higher education and who don't understand and perceive social and political problems logically and comprehensively. If full democracy is carried out at this stage in China, the country will become extremely divided and chaotic because the majority is very easy to be instigated. Thinking of the Cultural Revolution and 1989’s tragedy in Beijing, I would rather want the current Chinese government to run its governance to keep the country moving forward both economically and socially. This at least ensures the social stability and constant economic development for the time being, let’s say 50 years maybe. Once the society becomes mature and sophisticated enough to embrace the change caused by democracy, I believe the agenda to reform our political system will be set and discussed.

Here is the catch:政治经济哲学原理是『经济基础(富裕的民生)决定是上层建筑(人民的权力)』,西方国家获得了这些民主之春国家和地区的操纵权,其国民则失去了经济利益,因此人民被损害的恰恰是西方推销的民主。
普世民主是这三十多年以来地球上最大的黑色幽默。 -
In chinese ,there is a word 中庸,which means “middle of the road”,english is hard to translate this deep and old concept. which means at least it works, we can adjust ,not just we need everyone to vote for the president ..I think communist is just a regime for now ,it still works as the ancient china ,as same as some of east countries .
Actually the fast speed of development cames from the same regime in Korea and HK and Taiwan, now they began to collpase because of democracy, but singapore ,still booming ..
China is more like a 400 times of Singapore . -
After trump, who is literally an actor, compared his opponents ,Chinese Presidents, who has at least 30 years' experience, I think everyone know what happened and how USA to be great again .
-
lmao those chinks can only copy with no innovation, everybody knows that. The communist government opresses its people like hell,it will break apart within, just a matter of time.
-
China is a developing country, there are bound to be problems within, which the gov and people both hate. The solution is to solve the problem not destroy the system. People think USA is a true democracy, news flash! It is not! In fact no country on earth is democracy. All representative democracy. Just like China is and will be. We are Chinese, we have 5000 years of history managing the country. Why should we listen to what the USA with a mere 200 years of history say. The west is always looking at China like some secret village that the world just discovered. That's ignorance. I am Chinese and I am proud to be. The communist part has many flaws, but it will change. Eventually we will be a developed country. Then we'll see.
-
China's progress in past 30 years is substantial but also often overrated. There was no miracle. Chinese people has paid a lot to achieve this much. The future is uncertain.
-
Really very soon become the China superpower nations in the world.
-
China I support you as long as you are not USA
-
Many Chinese just adopt the official view that it's good and okay to work hard and earn enough money for your family, don't care politics, don't speak about what is right or wrong, everybody pursue money and Chinese dream.
