On 24th of September 2015, past and present editors of The Economist met at UCL to discuss the recent history of the publication. They talked about political economy, cosmopolitanism and global media. The panelists were Andrew Knight (editor in 1974–86); Rupert Pennant-Rea (editor in 1986–93); Bill Emmott (editor in 1993–2006); Zanny Minton Beddoes (current editor). The conversation was moderated by Ruth Dudley Edwards (author of The Pursuit of Reason, The Economist 1843-1993).
