The U.S. Commerce Department said on Tuesday that the country′s gross domestic product grew at an annual rate of five percent in the third quarter,... the fastest rate of expansion since 2003 and much stronger than its earlier estimate of 3-point-9 percent. Stocks reached record highs after the government′s latest data reassured investors that the U.S. economic expansion could boost the global economy. Experts attributed the robust growth to strong consumption, especially on health care services, while business investment and government spending also rose.
