http://www.spectrecom.co.uk/student-recruitment-videos/ Our services were recently called upon to produce a brand new suite of online videos on behalf of one of the world’s leading business schools, Saïd Business School. For those not in the know, Saïd Business School is the business department of the University of Oxford, which of course is one of the most prestigious seats of learning not just in this land but also around the entire globe. Having previously worked on a smaller project for Saïd Business School, this new production was much more wide-ranging and expansive, as we were briefed to create a video series that would offer student insight into the school in general and its postgrad programme in financial economics specifically. To accomplish this, we visited the school’s Oxford campus and interviewed six MFE students, with our direct-to-camera shooting style helping to provide a contemporary look and feel. The half-dozen quick-fire interview videos display an adroit balance of the personal and the informative, and can all now be seen online via the Saïd Business School YouTube channel. As a video production company that’s worked with more than 30 UK universities, we’re well-positioned to spot shifting marketing trends in the sector. One such trend which has rocketed to prominence in the last year or so, at least in terms of the type of video content we’re being asked to produce, is research impact. Every university has its own roster of brilliant academics, often involved in headline-making research, and the universities themselves seem increasingly determined to get these stories out there, in order to show the value and real-world importance of what goes on behind their doors. Just in the last year or so, we’ve created research video series for the University of York, Queen Mary University of London, Middlesex University and, most recently, the University of Sussex, covering such diverse topics as fusion power, cybersecurity, organ donation and much, much more. We’ve produced videos for universities as distant from our Waterloo HQ as Newcastle, Glasgow and Aberdeen. But we’re unlikely to ever make a video for a university that’s closer than LSBU; its campus is just minutes away from our film studios. We recently filmed with a group of London South Bank University students who hail from all around the world – Bangladesh, China, the USA, Nigeria and Brazil – in order to create a new piece of video content aimed at international students interested in coming to study in the UK capital. By capturing the energy and world famous locations that help make London a global powerhouse city, as well as the excellence of the courses, facilities and student lifestyle at LSBU, the video gets to the heart of what attracts so many top international students to the university. http://www.spectrecom.co.uk/student-recruitment-videos/ Spectrecom’s in-house creative team produces engaging, results-driven student recruitment videos, promotional films and cinema adverts for over 35 UK universities. We deliver memorable films and engaging video marketing campaigns that help our university clients get noticed online, recruit the very best students, showcase cutting edge research, raise funds, celebrate milestones and communicate effectively with alumni. All good education marketing campaigns are about results. Without a clear objective, the chance of a good return on investment is virtually zero, which is why every university marketing campaign we undertake, focuses – right from the outset – on meeting pre-determined goals, prompting action and changing behaviour. In an increasingly competitive student recruitment marketplace, it puts the onus on us to develop unique concepts, campaigns and approaches that really stand out from the crowd.
