Robert Peston, the BBC's Business Editor, speaks to some of the heavy hitters in hedge-fund and private equity scene. Along with the investment bankers, these are the very people who have been blamed for the current financial woe's of the world. This film highlights the fact that these very few people have become super rich and while the global economy is collapsing around us, they get to sail off into the sunset, with bulging pockets, to lay back, and wait for the next set of opportunities that will come along. Which, ironically, will probably be the buying, very cheaply, of the many companies that are in trouble, due to the actions of hedge-funds, private equity firms, and investment bankers in the financial markets over recent years.

My girlfriend and I are lower to middle, Middle Class. We each make about $6,500 a month and with the kids all grown, married and in good jobs all we have to "worry about" financially is rent on a small townhouse and our living expenses. We have no vast net worth and little debt. A couple of middle-aged people can live just fine on $12K a month and being "Rich" doesn't really interest me once my kids were through University and Married. The "Poor" in America all seem to have big screen TV's and Cell Phones and live just about the same as a family making $60K, except they drive older vehicles and take less extravagant Vacations. In the USA and Western Europe there isn't truly any poverty when compared to 80% of people born in Africa or Asia. Wealth is an illusion. Money doesn't buy "happiness" or remove "worry" from a person's life. Depression and Suicide rates are HIGHER among the "Rich". Ask yourself, why?

The bit about making money when buying a house is utter nonsense! in consumer terms, as you have an asset that you cant sell when you want because you have to live in it.
