The Age of Geo-Economics: Choices for Japan & the U.S. in a G-Zero World https://www.japansociety.org/event/th... From economic sanctions, trade negotiations and state capitalism to the formation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), we are witnessing an increasingly visible impact of "geo-economics," a term used to describe countries exercising economic means to exert geopolitical influence. While Emerging Market countries start exercising more influence, the U.S., along with other Western nations, is occupied with challenges at home. Although this trend may be reversing the U.S.-led globalization, we haven't seen a new model of global geopolitical order or leadership yet. Ian Bremmer, President of Eurasia Group, who coined the term "G-Zero," calls the current leaderless state of the world a geopolitical creative destruction. Based on his two recent publications, The Age of Geo-Economics (Nikkei Publishing) and Superpower: Three Choices for America's Role in the World (Portfolio/Penguin), Dr. Bremmer will discuss what "G-Zero" means to the U.S., Japan and Asia broadly, why the U.S.'s foreign policy is in decline, how Japanese and American business and political leaders should prepare themselves to cope with emerging challenges in this environment, and what kind of path the U.S. may choose as the world's only superpower. Speaker: Ian Bremmer, President, Eurasia Group Presider: Kyoko Gasha, News Anchor and Senior Producer, Reuters; Documentary Film Director ------ Visit: http://www.japansociety.org/page/cale... American centric talk. As usual arrogant and loud mouth. Too bad, TPP is dead. Good news. It's a trap for all other countries other than US. Another defeat for Obama.

If you Americans want the World to function leave it alone so much that they get time to work out their own problem. In Sweden we got at least one high level visit each year, military proposes every few mounth and an neverending stream of thinktanks and lower level politicians. How do you Think that a country will get time and breathingspace to work out strategies that work if they constantly have to make incoherent agreements about Everything and nothing.

Obama is not the last, but he is the worst USA president ever. Internally his administration spent even much more than last one ( more than double debt collected than Bush's). Internationally, he set up not only one enemy (China), but also Russia in USA's front line. He failed because he has never had even the local administration experience. Where is the clever leadership in USA or even the EU?

what a door grape

"G-zero" is totally a pessimistic or a back off theory of the "greatest" USA, compares with last century USA glorious and aggressive records, even Mr. Bremmer continuously says that USA is not in decline. "G-Zero" is obvious controversial to his denying.

Ian just told his Japanese fellows: behave yourselves and don't make trouble anymore, we USA have enough problem, same like USA warns the Taiwanese.

1 hour talking and nothing to show?
How about we forget the capitalism for a while and think in really solve problem?
How about we live in a society based in resource? or better: Resource-Based Economy. -

I don't know how he can comment at all on the TPP, when none of us have been allowed to actually read it. This makes me think his ego exceeds his knowledge.
