Did you know that fish is the most traded agricultural commodity in the world? But what you probably don’t know is that out of every four fish on the global market, one is stolen. This is according to World Bank data that reveals that impact of illegal fishing activities is not only robbing coastal countries of income, but also threatening marine life. The official figure is that Kenya loses 10 billion shillings annually due to illegal, unregulated and unreported finishing in its territorial waters, but as Zeynab Wandati reports, the losses are much higher.
