About 71-percent of the chief financial officers surveyed said the economy will not even start to recover until next year. The director of the Duke University and CFO Magazine Global Business Outlook study said, QUOTE it could be the longest slowdown since the double-dip recession of 1979 through 1981. On a positive note, this quarter’s report found significantly increased optimism among CFOs as compared to the previous quarter’s survey. Top economic concerns include weak consumer demand, high fuel costs and lowered employment rates. More than 1-thousand chief financial officers were included in the study.
