The greatest force shaping the world we live in: Alok Appadurai at TEDxTucson

Join Alok Appadurai as he explores the harmful effects of Fast Fashion and the power of the consumer to determine our future. He takes us on a journey from pesticide cottons, collapsing garment factories, and polluted waterways to a future quite radically different, which he argues can be our present. Alok believes deeply in the power of global movements of individuals making choices that collectively form the basis for grand change. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
