Bollocks. Country with most debt to GDP is Russia. Sweden Denmark have more debt than the UK. Welfare state is a hallmark of civilised society.
This country needs to establish industry again. Start making and producing stuff. Be it Technology, Textile or Engineering, we need to start making stuff the world wants and respects. This country offers nothing to the world except a service industry. Thats where we went wrong, not the welfare state or NHS and pensions!!! -

Really well presented video. Thanks. One thing that's not clear to me though is whether the central banks gain from this model or whether they lose. With regards to Greece did the central banks not ask them to pay up their debt in land? Doesn't that effectively make this whole euro scheme some kind of land grab that all get's handled at the top?

Each of these collapses follows a War. in the U. S. 1933 WWI, In 1976, The war in Viet Nam, in the 1990's The Gulf War. In 1954-The Korean War and WWII, Great Britiain fought every war that we fought and each of our economies paid the prices. As a result, people lost jobs, became homeless, and food was in short supply. The government did not turn its backs on its people. Welfare was the safety net. It did not cause the problem, it was the result of the problem of unnecessary unproductive wars.

All this & it does not really take into account climate change & peak oil. The horrible state of demographics: That Island's average farmer's age is over 60. It's occupied by people living from a delusion of paper shuffling as equal to productive work. A culture of debt slavery, weapons sales, & pseudo-wealth which lives as a bubble.
