+Stefan Molyneux
Welcome to 2017, where both Capitalism and Communism where abandon long ago, in countries, who would not stagnete, on social wealtfare, - economic wealth/growt, - Cultural, huge amount off voters in democraties, - ect...
Any "Radical Preacher", being religious or economics, is long ago abandoned, as being of no use - - - - live with it Stefan, accept that we have chosen an "New Deal-way", maybe USA and Russia should do he same ??? -
whats with all the dislikes? what is wrong with the analysis that stefan just presented? i found it all to be factual after easy google searches

Of course countries like Denmark and Norway spend less on their militaries, Stefan. The U.S. is sworn by treaty to protect them!! Our military spending is not an indicator of our socialism. It's an indicator of our magnanimity in not charging these countries a fair price for the military protection we provide. If we did so, their military budgets would definitely go UP. So would that then make them more socialist??

I think the simple unadorned equation of "war is socialism" is a fairly gross oversimplification. For the purposes of his discussion here, I do understand where Mr. Molyneux is going with it, and perhaps it applies to Sweden, but it simply won't do to under-analyze the many and varied historical motivations for war with a simple pronouncement. The subject is far to broad to be swept aside so unequivocally.

As for Nordic lower levels of consumption, I provide a counterpoint - things like insurance, premiums and medication are included in the calculation. People living in the Nordic countries don't pay for medical insurance, and also don't pay student loans. In fact, a lot of household spending is also sponsored by the government. When a baby is born in, say, Finland, the parents literally get things from the government that are useful, that they don't need to buy. Furthermore, they don't buy as much formula per capita because women are allowed the time off that they need, nd hence can breastfeed for longer. What they don't have is subsidized. Subsidization continues until their kids are adults. So of course their consumption rates are lower. Keep in mind they also travel much more than Americans do.
Also, where's Iceland? And also, you should isolate Greenland from Denmark if you want things to be totally accurate. Although Greenland is technically part of Denmark, it's completely different, had a different industry, very different living standards and something like a 500% higher crime rate, just to name a few. And, I like the comparison to Switzerland, but it is not a Nordic country... -
Good times, when he was a libertarian and talked about economy

Of course we have a higher standard of living! nobody's arguing with that. You are making our point for us because what Bernie Sanders is saying is that it is mostly for the top 1%. why don't you compare the poverty rate in Sweden and the US?????
-
18:13 How is U.S highest standard of living when i live there and everything is bad af? I get robbed by thugs, I can#t afford a ood stek.. everything in U.S is rigged by corporations
-
I dont understand why this is up for discussion, when its so obvious that the Scandinavian model is much better! If you guys bother to read any stats that says that USA is a better country to live in, feel free to tell...
-
I don't know about all that economic stuff he talks about, but if it's as inaccurate as with the Swedes and wars - he shold go get the money back from whatever school he went to (guess he had to pay for it - we don't :-) ). Last war between Norway and Sweden was in 1814 .... last battle was where I'm living....

Questions:
The nordic states have a smaller population than the US, is that taken into account? If not then why not?
How is Taxation a problem when what its going to actually helps the country?
Isn't Econimc growth not necceassarily a good thing if it leads to a boom and bust cycle?
You failed to explain why bigger governments lower life spans. You just pointed to correlations. Why is that?
There will always be regulation because it is needed to keep the public safe. Are you for removing only unnecessary
regulation or all regulation? -
Large government keeps people poor and robs the poor of 20 years of life??? Are you serious??? Try that argument on the people of Bhopal <

each time I am presented with an argument such as "but the scandinavian socialism", I go strait to the economic freedom index, and then I show them that the countries which they want take example from ,are more free then his own country(which he calls "capitalist").

They are democratic socialist countries, And they score very high on the human development index, the least corruption, and are some of the happiest countries on earth! 🌏 these are the facts!
