http://www.weforum.org/ Feeding the world sustainably, as the global population grows, is one of the world's major challenges. The World Economic Forum's New Vision for Agriculture (NVA) facilitates partnerships across the world to deliver food security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity through agriculture. "We have to start with farmers and put farmers at the centre of the whole effort," says Lisa Dreier.

this video said nothing of much substance. simply a PR opportunity for nestle who forced breastfeeding mothers into dependency. we currently produce enough calories to feed 10 billion people. more food with more chemicals is not the answer. better distribution and soil conservation (no till) is the answer. less meat, more wheat!

That's it?
Concretely, what is the vision? Can't just be those 3 pillars that are a paraphrasing of "profit. people. planet", though? And more importantly how do you intend to implement the vision? I expected something more thorough and speciifc from such a big and well-funded organization as the WEF. -
Whole Foods connects farmers and clients really well. They are perhaps a model for the future?

By 2050, we will have to feed 9 billion people. How can we produce enough food without destroying the environment and limiting growth? Today is World Food Day - we welcome your thoughts on farming, waste and innovation.
"We're going to need to produce more with less," says Lisa Dreier at the World Economic Forum in this video on a new vision for agriculture. She argues that farming should make a positive contribution to three things: food security, environmental sustainability and economic opportunity.
