The Story of Bottled Water (2010)

http://storyofbottledwater.org The Story of Bottled Water, released on March 22, 2010 (World Water Day) employs the Story of Stuff style to tell the story of manufactured demand—how you get Americans to buy more than half a billion bottles of water every week when it already flows from the tap. Over five minutes, the film explores the bottled water industrys attacks on tap water and its use of seductive, environmental-themed advertising to cover up the mountains of plastic waste it produces. The film concludes with a call to take back the tap, not only by making a personal commitment to avoid bottled water, but by supporting investments in clean, available tap water for all. Our production partners on the bottled water film include five leading sustainability groups: Corporate Accountability International, Environmental Working Group, Food & Water Watch, Pacific Institute, and Polaris Institute. is it sad how we are actually selling air now... 2010 could not predict
-
the corporate world that believe you should be charged for air, has damaged our water sources so they can charge you for clean water/ chemically induced water, stand up against these companies! stand up against the rich they are killing the planet!!!

Omg tap water is just fine I usually drink tap water and when I drink bottled water, it is gross.
-
Depends on where you live. At my last place the water tasted like a pool, way too much chlorine. Yes, I bought bottled. Now I live in an area where the water tastes great, and I only drink tap.
-
I usually buy one bottle of water each one or two years, then I fill it from the tap over and over again.
Everyone must make their own decisions, that one is mine. -

Well, Fiji water might lose out against Cleveland water, but I'm sure the folks in Flint Michigan might like it.
-
Block the market from commercializing tap water, they'll commercialize bottled water.
I don't think the solution is the problem (regulations) -
These videos only address issues with public water systems. I live in the eastern U.S. where most of us only have well water available. Before purchasing our house, we had the water tested. Then six months into living here, our water turned brown. We spent $$ on a birm filter, but still during drought our water turns beige despite having a drilled well. When you don't have the high $$$ to drill a new well, bottled water is the only alternative.
