I worked for the railroad pounding spikes all day. Pounding spikes over the rail as shown is incorrect. If you miss the handle gets smashed on the rail. Always hit from the same side.

Crocker, one of the Big Four, hired 18 thousand Chinese men from China to come here to work on the railroad; this was in addition to the men he hired locally who came here on their own to work in the gold mine in San Francisco. The Chinese were assigned difficult tasks to do that the white Americans shied away from. A lot of Chinese men were killed in breaking the granite between California and Nevada. The Americans did not show in their history the contribution the Chinese made in the U.S. How sad!

It's always been very simple. There are them. and us. they sometimes care about us...but most don't. We let them get away with it most of the time because most of us think that we might one day become ...one of them...
Most of us won't...but we are let to believe this by them.
