She's been in business for over 10 years. I find it hard to believe, that this is the first time anyone has called her out over this... ?! 10 years worth of testing peoples' blood and this is the first time we hear of a scandal? Seems weird.

I have a background over many years in laboratory testing and if I understood correctly what Theranos did here is in fact unheard of in the field. This video relates to tests done on traditional laboratory instrumentation and not their propietary instrumentation and methodology. Every laboratory is required to run quality control each day and if the instrument does not pass QC it must be taken offline until it is documented that it does does, usually by calling in service technicians to isolate and repair the problem this is what I did for 22 years for a major manufacturer of laboratory instrumentation. To ignore their own QC is negligence of the highest order and again, unheard of.
Now to get to Theranos propietary methodology, they are only approved for performing one test by the FDA which regulates the industry, if this lab was reporting out results for unapproved tests that is MORE than unheard of, it is mind boggling that they could be so irresponsible in their flagrant violation of good laboratory practice and regulatory authority. Jail time is not unwarranted. -

Hello WSJ,
before I invest my money, I want to understand
the new Nano Bloodtest Technology
by Theranos.
Testcase (Proof of Concept)
Say there is a 260 Pound
heavy American worker.
On Friday night, he had about 5 to 7 beers,
after a heavy meal at Mc Donalds.
(2 Big Mac, Fries and so on)
Now, we make a tiny prick in his finger,
to analyse his current blood values.
(Nano Technology)
What will be the outcome
and his prognosis
in Bloodtest A ?#~
Do we need a Bloodtest B
next morining, or can we
spare that ?#~
PS:
Do you think the patient
will be ok on Monday
morning ?#~
Best Wishes

If a Doctor had no idea what he was doing & was making medical decisions for patients, he would be in jail. How is what she did any different? Giving patients garbage test results? WOW! Why is she not in jail?

Great work John!!!!

My question is what did they expect!? It never occurred to them this would all blowup in their face when they took something to market that was never properly QC'd?! Commercially available research based diagnostic tests and instrumentation go through more stringent QC measures. The fact this happened with clinical based testing at Theranos is unfathomable.

What has Peter Thiel done? What has Mark zuckerberg done? What has Elizabeth Holmes done? Answer these questions before you worship anyone.

Lot's of scam in the biotech industry. I wouldn't believe anything from peter thiel as well.

Theranos is going to make a big impact! For the consumer and individuals this means low cost readily available blood testing. For the current Healthcare establishment this means a major competition. I see an optimization of my money and the way it is used for my healthcare, by providing results cheaply.
