4. India for four thousands years before Christ was number one country economically. Even from 1 AD to 1000 AD India was number one economy in the world. After that India and China share number one and two untill 1750. After the disruption by European colonial power India and China become poor. But again India and china will retain their place. But India will be more successful than china even if there exist a gap in gdp figure. Indians are the world class innovators. Future innovations will come from India not china. China will face same fate like japan of zero growth because of many structural issues.

7. Well, the projections are for over 30 years ahead. If we look back 30 years in 1986 the world was structured in a completely different way. No one in USSR and other socialist countries would ever think the socialist system would cease to exist and thus change the structure of the world wealth distribution. This projection is a simple extrapolation and assumes no political interference will happen in 30 years, which is hard to believe. Historically East had higher resource potential but West had better and more flexible administration.
   Most of developing countries have economies that highly depend on developed ones. Just to mention few cases: Russia depends on oil export to industrially developed Europe. China depends on export of low price goods. However, larger their GDP becomes, more costly their products will turn, thus reducing China's export. Nigeria is highly unstable and triggering civil war in the country does not seem to hard. India has yet to resolve its issues with Pakistan. Though I do not exclude a possibility of a shift of power towards East in future, it is still too early to make similar projections.

    Also the PPP will shift more towards nominal figures as countries become more economically mature which will change the list considerably.

17. How can a country that exhibits a confrontational attitude in the international arena ever be number 1! If China is to fulfil its potential to be number 1, it has to change its attitude. Otherwise, it can at best be number 3 after India and the US.
18. Americans are obsessed with shit. America is a man made country and hence your riches we're forcefully put into place. Your reign is only temporary. China went from farm land to full blown infrastructure in just 20 years when they found out what kinda fools the west has. China has been doing well so far and for such a short period of time but its reign has also ended. It's a communist nation which has seen its economic growth slowly and gradually declining.
    India on the other hand has been slowly but gradually developing and unlike china, the economy of india has only been growing and will continue to grow. with the largest democracy we'd blow china and america outta the playing feild by 2050 fo sure.
19. Even so, China's or India's quality of life, not including Hong Kong, won't come near America's or Western/Northern Europe's for a long time. So no intention of moving there just yet.
