On Agenda, economist and NITI Aayog member, Bibek Debroy fields questions from the public on the government's surprise decision to eliminate Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes overnight. Could the government have handled the implementation of this decision, being billed as death knell to the country's black money menace, in a more streamlined manner? Mr Debroy says that the secret would have been out then and the move wouldn't have been as effective, adding, 'don't assume the government is stupid'. When I buy things with cash I don't have to pay a "surcharge" how the government install cashless economy and force its citizens to pay "surcharge" to private companies. This is nothing more than High Robbery. We need a "cash satyagrah' lile "salt Satyagrah". Remove all transaction charges for online purchases.

Demonetization is a Political decision. In 1969 Indra Gandhi nationalized all banks and this move was supported by the public to the extend that Congress milked it over the next 3 elections. Today if you ask any Economist he will say it was a Bad decision and Indian economy suffered. Similarly Demonetization though Popular will be a big negative for our economy especially employment. .

2000 rupees were printed since they government can fool people larger amount exchanged. As against 4 lakh crores worth printed today it would have been 1 lakh crore. Totally stupid (given capacity to print 2000 is same as 500). But these idiots dont realise that without 500 rupee note, 2000 rupee note is worthless. You can use credit card everywhere 2000 rupee notes can be used.

Way back in 1955 PC Mahalnobis, great statistician from ISI made model of Indian economy for second five year for Planning Commission. It helped this country to achieve 5.5 per cent growth rate, highest before economic reforms and comparable to 5.7 per cent achieved during Vajpayee Government. We see Niti Aayog only making speeches instead of working econometric models of economy for proper analysis. If they had made that model and simulated demonetisation in that model, they would realised the futility and mass destruction with this model. Not for nothing CEA Subramaniam a respected economist is silent on this. Empty vessels like him are only justifying this stupidity talking nonsense.
