(4 Nov 2016) Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim says Republican candidate Donald Trump's policies "would destroy the American economy with brutal inflation." The world's fourth richest man says Trump's protectionist tariff policies on imports would cause extreme inflationary effects. Slim was speaking at a conference in Mexico City on Friday. He said he didn't think Trump would win, noting "it is a very low probability." He added "the institutions in the United States are very strong, not even the president can arbitrarily change some things." Trump has angered Mexicans before with comments suggesting many Mexican immigrants are rapists or criminals.
