Wide of Cameron and Gillard shaking hands at the end of the meeting STORYLINE: British Prime Minister David Cameron met Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard on the sidelines of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Perth on Saturday. The two prime ministers discussed the European debt crisis, and Cameron said they had reached "very strong agreement" on all economic issues. Cameron said that central to promoting world economic growth were the outcome of the deal within the eurozone, continuing moves away from protectionism, and dealing with imbalances in the world economy. "Britain and Australia are very strong partners on all the key issues," Cameron told reporters at the meeting. Cameron, who is attending the CHOGM event, is making his first visit official to Australia.
