Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
In which John Green discusses the Syrian refugee crisis and the growing number of refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, and Eritrea crossing the sea with the help of smugglers to seek refuge in European Union nations. Also discussed: The difference between migrants and refugees, the rights of refugees as established by international law, the globalization of all regional crises, and how the death of 3-year-old Alan Kurdi galvanized the world. Wake up Libtards.... You are as wrong on this issue as can be. Spend 20 hours researching the topic. It will save your special snow flake life. You accept everyone... Other groups have been waiting hundreds of years to dominate the world. WAKE UP

if you actually want to fix things, how about trying to leave your own echo chambers?
-
Refugees by law should stay in the first country of safety, not go 3/4 of the way through Europe to the best welfare states....
-
You are full of shit and ignore the western backing of terrorists to fight the Arab spring. Idiot.

gott love the beer sword

Why does the west get guilted in to taking so many refugees china isn't taking any Japanese isn't why so we have to?
-
Send any refugee trying to enter Europe back or tell them they risk getting shot at. Plant land mines and set up more barbwire fences.

Refugees are those who are running for life. And if you are running for life, you gotta be running literally anywhere safe. The question is: why are they running to France, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway? These countries are not as close as Turkey, Greece, even North African countries? The answer is: because they know that there is this loophole in the international law and they want to immigrate to a richer country, to better environment. Do you know what the result is gonna be? Ask Europeans, who admitted large number "refugees" from other countries before Siria. This is very convenient to claim that everyone, who criticizes this is racist. But get this: my father was also an immigrant, who worked hard for his entire life and hated those people, who pretended to be refugees only to parasite on a social walfare (it's not 100% of the case, but sadly a lot of them do so). This is a reverse discrimination at its worst. Citizens of Europe do not deserve to suffer from this crisis. I don't know what statistics this guy is applying to, but I'm perfectly familiat with the real life situation in Germany, France, Sweden, the UK and Norway, where you have a large number of cultural conflicts. And those conflicts are caused not by the natives. Stop telling us we are evil and racist. This is a severe act of discrimination. I am also an immigrant, for God's sake. Culture is an issue, not the race or ethnicity. It would be much better if the refugees at least migrated to the countries which are closer in terms of culture and religion.

The Ten Commandments are pretty terrible actually, and there are 13 of
them in the chapter.
1. No other Gods AKA religious intolerance, Bad
2. No Carved things P.S. God is jealous and will kill babies for
generations if you carve a thing, Bad
3. Do not even say the word God, this is just ridiculous and Bad
4. No doing, or letting anyone do anything on the Sabbath, also
religiously intolerant and bad.
5. Honor your parents, not overtly bad but can lead to confucian style
societal problems.
6. No Murder, this one is pretty good in most circumstances.
7. No Adultery, anti-freedom anti-love pro-abusive authority structures,
in short: bad
8. No Stealing, this one is very good in almost every circumstance.
9. No lying, this one is goodish most of the time.
10. No wanting your neighbor's stuff, this one is wierd and kind of bad,
because desiring what others have is what drives ambition and
production, both good things.
3/10 are not awful xenophobic garbage.
Someone has posted this comment. The Ten Commandments should be taken as subjective. -
I don`t get why people from places like France have problems. What should Turkey, Lebanon, Egypt, I think Iraq or Iran(I always confuse them), Italy and Greece do? They have far more refugges and are mostly countries with less people and weaker economys. Northern and central Europe is complaining too much for no reason.

The three yr old that passed away was not even syrian

This is the most toxic comment section I have seen, people saying things like all the refugees are Muslims (and thus terrorists) or want to destroy ways of like, e.t.c. Spouting that some other country should deal with it. It's pretty sad. But, instead we could just:
Punish those who deserve punishment. Do not punish all due to few.
This would of course require a large amount of international cooperation and a better system of allowing the correct people (The good people fleeing to protect themselves) -
Yes we need to help the refugees kids and women first it's mostly actually almost all young males as refugees and they are causing mass destruction incountries other than their own so yes you need to help but you also need to protect your own citizens so please start telling two sides of the story and maybe somewhere in your bleeding heart want to be one world knock off a journalist self you will find the truth have a nice day did you hear about all the rates? It's not women and three-year-old kids doing that now is it…? You take a couple of pictures and a couple of particular situations to ta did you hear about all the rapes? It's not women and three-year-old kids doing that now is it…? You take a couple of pictures and a couple of particular situations to try to make people think all refugees are peaceful family orientated not driven by welfare people you are ridiculous not to be rude but your journalism sucks if you are a journalist you're probably just someone at home giving your opinions which is fine but it's such a one-sided opinion you obviously can't be a journalist !!

This is truly moving.
Some points highlighted here are things that the media really doesn't want to share with the regular day to day Joe. I think it's time for us to put the blame on the right people, and also know that the homeless refugees that come to our countries seeking shelter are not the ones to blame. -
So what if we allowed complete families, with both parents and children to sign up for a fast pass to settle. with credit bc I mean its not real anyways.(shows my lack of knowledge) Young adults will reattend a native speaking college personalizing them to the foreign culture allowing them to get used to a new society and its values or lack cough. giving them a new beginning and a fresh mental start. allowing them to believe in the system. giving them courage to move on properly. The awesome part the students would have to pay for it allowing them to build credit. b/c we all pay. .but it would also have to be mandatory...;) before citizenship clearance. hopefully preventing future damage. but don't take this serious its just for fun

I'm in Germany.
Most of the so-called refugees are not actually from Syria. -
is it not true ,,,,that little boy would still be alive iff mum and dad stayed in turkey, where they had been living for like two years?
-
As climate change accelerates, the mass migrations will increase.
