Inequality has been rising for 30 years. The gap between rich and poor is the widest since the second world war. If current trends continue, we will have reached Victorian levels of inequality in 20 years. Sign up to our weekly email briefings to get the full facts. http://inequalitybriefing.org

I thought Britain was better than this. I already saw a video exactly like this for the US, shocker (not really). Am I now gonna see a video like this for Canada, I sure hope not, I hope we're better than this, but probably aren't

Sooner London leaves the UK, the better. Fucking cannot stand London, and it's people.
-
At least you guys don't live in America and actually have something called safety nets. lol
-
does this consider age? an 18 year old makes far less money than a 50 year old, is that unfair? now consider at one point that 50 year old at one point was 18 and was making far less than some other 50 year old.
-
still better than American wealth inequality
-
It has never been an country of equality. Look at the monarchy as an example. Now it's big business executives and owners are the new landed gentry

None of you like what I'm about to say but it needs to be said. An economy needs a super rich class, its them who create the factories, the services that you need or want. They also pay more than a third of britains tax. And the top 20% more than half. Besides if you want to stop people from getting rich it's really simple, buy independant stuff. Stop going to sainsburys and go to the local butcher and delicatessan. People who are rich get there by providing a service which makes life for everyone else easier, as a result the people who create this service or product make the money for providing you that service. If they couldn't benefit from creating a product they would not make that product. Innovation would collapse.
Besides if you really want to get rid of the super rich cooperate world you need to get rid of company regulations and allow small business to compete with the cooperate world. -
What about inequality in India

Sorry to say but my grand father and father worked extremely hard going from land Lord and engineer to colonial industrialist and plantation owner, (Grand Father) and to Doctor and Head of Medical research (father) for me to be able to get have a good education and live a comfortable life The problem quite frankly, is with those who don't study and get into University or work hard enough. It is not that my Father and Grand Father, or anyone for that matter, can determine their wealth. Every thing is by God's will.

2 Things: Unless you waste money, assuming the family size of 2 adults 2 children; about 25k a year is more than plenty to live off. (If you don't have cars or major travel expenses then 20k) therefore everyone doesn't need to be billionaires.
If you want to earn money: Study, go through college and actually get a job which isn't something a machine could do. The amount of people i know that haven't gone to college or university because "they had a job ready for them" to find themselves going their whole life only earning about 20k a year tops.
Go through university and your starting salary is that.
I'm planning on doing software engineering. (Currently on track for All A*'s at A level doing maths, further maths and physics. (Spent 5 hours studying C3 and my second past paper got me an A (Maybe A* but it was missing the boundary for that) This is compared to the recommended teaching time of about 36 hours excluding the 36 hours you're supposed to do at home and homework on top of that.). Teach has kept this is mind for my target grades. This was also done over the space of a week without even looking at revision material on the day of each paper, so it's not like cramming a book and then doing a paper straight away after, I've learned and memorised the methods.)) My starting salary is around 25k raising to around 45k after 20 years, which isn't bad to say the average U.K wage is only 27k.
Only thing is money is bloated when it comes to the more southern areas. Could be talking twice the cost for the same thing if you live in london. (Fair to say i'd rather earn 30k-40k in yorkshire than 50k in london, this actually matches up if you compare living expenses. I've compared it to the most expensive place locally (which leads me to hate going there since it can a reasonable bit more expensive for the same thing as where i live) and it costs on average 52% more... The place i was comparing to is already about 50% more expensive than where i live. -
Fairness is getting what you earn. Ergo, wealth redistribution is unfair.
-
thats extreme inequality
-
It's a mild level of inequality
-
Welp. this explains the Brexit disaster.

The rich need their money!! How else can they buy their country estates, diamonds, art collections, expensive cars, property portfolios, private education for their children, luxury yachts polo ponies etc. They also have to pay their servants, stable staff, chauffeurs, accountants, lawyers. It's an expensive business being rich.
-
...and I doubt Ireland is much better - another grossly unfair country!
-
Fair? What is fair? The poorest 5th are likely not even working and therefore should have any wealth. Don't left arrogance and jealousy cloud your head.
-
Since when was 60 almost twice as much as 40 lmao
-
Why is this shocking? Those who go out and invent something are celebrities, once you have capital you can earn much more
-
This is good in my eyes though.
