Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
GLOBAL Ideas seeks to break down complex issues regarding climate change. That's why we've begun a series of information films to answer some basic questions. In this episode we deal with the question -- "How much are forests worth? Is it possible to save a forest by placing a value on each tree? And what does REDD+ mean in this context?" We look forward to your discussion on the topic.

reduce taxes to people that plant trees and you will see a surge in reforestation. Please consider reforesting the so called developed countries, and avoid putting all those restrictions on the so called developing countries, they will never grow out of poverty if they are restricted from farming their own food to be independent from the prison planet world government scientific tirany set to rule over the air we breathe?

After all,Capitalism will erase all kind of forests and every single natural scene! I think it is really important to be aware of what kind of consequences we will have to deal with in the future; i mean, we already can see and feel the effects of global warming. I see that forests have social, cultural, and environmental value that are way more important than its economic values. Who the hell has the right to cut-off those trees, and who has the right to deprive us from those natural scenes?

Too many humans believe that the trees were put on Earth for us to use and harvest by a god. And when they are gone the god that made them will simply make them again. Forests in western cultures have been portrayed as Evil for so long it will take more than polite suggestion to halt the clearing. Legislation may be the only solution, for at least the time taken to apply for a clearing permit may slow the overall process down a bit.

the present attitudes of the society towards trees and forests is pathetic and shortsighted.the disconnect is very big but surprisingly easy and economical to revive.
