The action required to sustain human life is primarily intellectual: everything man needs has to be discovered by his mind and produced by his effort. Production is the application of reason to the problem of survival . . . .
Since knowledge, thinking, and rational action are properties of the individual, since the choice to exercise his rational faculty or not depends on the individual, man’s survival requires that those who think be free of the interference of those who don’t. Since men are neither omniscient nor infallible, they must be free to agree or disagree, to cooperate or to pursue their own independent course, each according to his own rational judgment. Freedom is the fundamental requirement of man’s mind. -
Capitalism is a social system based on the recognition of individual rights, including property rights, in which all property is privately owned.
The recognition of individual rights entails the banishment of physical force from human relationships: basically, rights can be violated only by means of force. In a capitalist society, no man or group may initiate the use of physical force against others. The only function of the government, in such a society, is the task of protecting man’s rights, i.e., the task of protecting him from physical force; the government acts as the agent of man’s right of self-defense, and may use force only in retaliation and only against those who initiate its use; thus the government is the means of placing the retaliatory use of force under objective control. -

Capitalism is oppression in a diluted form. It is a way for the few to dominate the lives of the many.
Under capitalism, you are replaceable, an expendable resource the capitalists can throw away when they're through with you. Under capitalism you don't get anything from your work except a measly bit of profit the capitalists *could* part with, but are too greedy to give up.
Capitalism is disgusting, don't support it. -
Nowhere on this planet has ever experienced total capitalism and a totally free market. The state has always interfered, there are always statists who worship or believe in the state and think humans ruling over other humans actually has value, and the serfs are never allowed to reach lordship without being torn down by the state (through taxation) and the words or actions of the perpetually envious around them (they're greedy, lazy, etc). Thus capitalism has never truly happened ever. It is an aspiration that will probably never be achieved because of the absolute power of covetousness

Woohoo, capitalism number one!

I think the main problem is that the capital that people acquire is not enough to make you self sufficient, plus with the laws that prevent people from living on the land for free. Plus our action of exchange is monetized so it can be taxed. When we borrow money we have to pay back high interest. Apparently the barter system that was before money is a myth, so people did things for one another and people simply returned the favor back over time and no interest on top.
I say bring back that system before money using an electronic portfolio system. -
Just commented to be the 1,000th comment.

Capitalism in itself as in the ideology is not bad and is meant to do more good than harm BUT when you start having a politically driven capitalism that's where the danger begins when you have people taking advantage of the freedom given to them by capitalism to exploit people and not only that but to try to brainwash people and manipulate them and literally start treating them like objects to maintain their "wealth" and "power" that's crossing the limits and should be considered illegal but ofc they will never face any punishment cuz they're the government's biggest ally and best friend, in fact no government in the world can let go of trillions of dollars for human rights or a better future It just doesn't happen that way in politics
