This video didn't properly explain the root cause of the problem. Saying that Venezuela is in crisis because of low oil prices is like saying that a beggar is poor because he or she has no money. In both cases, poverty arises from low productivity, not lack of money. The crisis in Venezuela is the result of 17 years of vicious socialist policies that sought to destroy the private sector and replace it with a culture of government dependency. The hyper-inflationary forces at work in Venezuela are the direct product of the government's policy to impose price ceilings and the central bank's obscene expansion of the money supply (they are literally printing money; well, perhaps not "literally" because the government is actually too incompetent to print money. However, they ARE paying foreign suppliers to print the money for them). Ridiculous.

Chavez nationalized everything that's why the country went to shit. No private industry means Venezuela was near 100% dependent on oil
