2. This is a normal situation as China is transforming from a low tech and labor intensive  economy to a high tech industry with increasing automation. As the middle class population increases and as the economy switches from export and manufacturing mode to a high tech intensive and domestic consumption mode, China's economy will go get sailing in a steady state of growth.
3. Chinese factories already pirated enough intellectual property that they can sustain themselves for decades. Even with innovation occurring over their heads.
4. All these reasons are a red herring to obfuscate a purely mercenary motive, they will move if they can make more money by moving shop to a lower cost country.
5. And yet we still buy Chinese crap.
6. This is great, now Donald Trump doesn't need to bring jobs back to America!

13. American companies are leaving china? Good that means soon America and china won't do absolutely anything with each other anymore and will leave each other alone forever and not help each other anymore and the companies will do stuff in America and no where else

16. Nobody should underestimate China. Whilst they might be having problems in the mainland, they are still an economic player abroad at China has almost infinite amounts of cash lying around from the boom years. Here in Europe they are buying highly specialised, highly competitive companies like crazy. With it they are buying decades of development and knowledge.
    Nearly all of the most competitive economies in the world are European (with Switzerland being #1 overall and Germany having almost the same trade surplus as China but with 1/15 of the people and no natural resources) but if the technological edge goes to China that won't last forever.

All American companies should pull out completely and stop feeding that monster that will try to destroy us one day.Corporations do not care about the security of their country.Nor of their citizens.They only care about the next dollar irrespective if they are in danger like was mentioned in this documentary about the theft of intellectual property.
