SOLUTION to a sovereign debt crisis is to NOT get there in the first place. I could get a massive loan and go into debt right now and live well. BUT eventually reality catches up to me. Either I would go bankrupt or if I could print money I would inflate my money. It's a catch-22 and the painless "solution" was available years ago. Now were going to feel the pain somehow. We should of NEVER gone off of the Gold Standard as Gold's scarcity FORCES these problems to correct BEFORE they're massive.

ANd our Debt increases, we borrow by way of Bonds that China (and others) purchase at a rate that is harder to pay off each month. It is a spiral down. Borrow at higher rates, as the Creditor sees that you can't pay back previous "loan". What do you think eventually happens? Ask a loan shark what happens in the end.

You're not wrong. I speak to a lot of people about it, and for the most part they shrug their shoulders like it's not really a big deal. I honestly thing we could be on the verge of a collapse in the next week to ten days if the US dont' do something sensible. Even if they do I think a crash is a virtual certainty, just a question of when. I'm worried for the next week or so though even if I'm somewhat prepared.

Why bother fighting deflation, prices getting lower is better for the unemployed! Do people rush out to buy stuff in the sales because the shop puts the price up? NO! The Fed has go it back to front. If prices fall, people can afford to buy more stuff, which increases demand for goods, and creates jobs!
