let's analyse the scenario first rather than be ignorant that China would attack assume if it could attack. The northeast region can be easily cut and taken over no doubt but other than that whole himalayan region is a very difficult terrain to fight as one can see how much wealth and man power China has to spare for making the transport line between pok and jinjiang region. It's a death hole known from last conflict between india and Pakistan. Now if China decides to come from sea side than Indian navy can see anyone coming miles ahead from island ports in Indian ocean plus having a competent armed forces, anti missile defence system, intercontinental cruise missile and having a nuclear trident system is enough to deter any conflicts including india has alliance with every bad boy of every region of the world. Other than that Chinese are smart, they have more than one way to harm rather than engaging in direct assault. The only dangerous country in region is Pakistan because they have all the problems in the world, with nuclear weapons, a weaker economy , radicalisation, a dominating self interested army and unstable electoral system. It's like the most dumb kid of class got a MK 16.

if china will invade india via mountains then the war will over for china . becauee there are only 2 countries in the world who has experience of war in high altitudes i.e. india and pakistan . chinese army is highly inexperienced army . whereas indian army was in war since from its independence . and apart from this . china will never dare to attack india . they have their pet dog - name pakistan whom they use against india . after india defeated china in 1967 indo sino war . china was much aware that direct war against india means suicide for its growing economy .the best example is 1971 war . when china did not dare to open third front against india . in 1971 pakistan is supported by USA,UK,& CHINA .if china was not able to open its front in 1971 , then he will never do it in future . .
