WW2 Tribute to our Veterans World War 2, our Greatest Generation
Economy | Information | History | Online | Facts | World | Global | Money
A tribute to all those Veterans who fought the Nazis in Europe and the Japanese soldiers in the Pacific Theater. Including our troops on the home front who supported America's efforts in world war 2, across the globe. The heroes of the US Army, US Navy, US Marine Corps, and US Coast Guard. In WW2, this generation was united not only by a common purpose, but also by common values --duty, honor, economy, courage, service, love of family and country, and, above all, responsibility. At a time in their lives when their days and nights should have been filled with innocent adventure, love, and the workaday world, they were fighting in the most primitive conditions possible across the bloodied landscape of France, Belgium, Italy, Austria, and the coral islands of the Pacific. During World War 2, 464 United States military personnel received the Medal of Honor, 266 of them posthumously. Today approximately 850 American World War II veterans die every day. We owe them more them more than we car ever say.

It's a real shame that this generation now will never realize just how great they have it due to the sacrifices the world's greatest generation gave for all of us. This type of video should be shown in all schools so that we never forget....Words cannot express the gratitude and pride I have for all men and women who serve to protect our freedom and liberties. God bless you all!

My grandfather was in the army air corps during the war. He didn't see a lot of action, as his primary job was a mechanic, but because he enlisted during that time, my respect for him is unmatched

Now, I want to know who are the ten who pressed the dislike button so I give them a piece of my mind. These men and women fought to keep the peace and they helped forged the world to what it is today.

DEC 7, 1941...So called "Day of Infamy?" A good thing in the end!! There was worse such as the "Rape of Nanking" or the destruction of Dresden. If the US has joined the war earlier, it may not have happened. It was a good for Australia, the Empire and their allies already fighting! (Oh, what Sacrilege... next thing, I might bag that murdering drunkard, Churchill!!) ;-) Needn't have happened if they'd joined the righteous earlier. Okay... a BAD thing with some good that came out of it! Not hundreds of thousands of deaths, like Nanking/Nanjing or Dresden. Australia declared war against Japan on DEC 8. 1941 and Darwin was smashed a few days later.

My father and my uncle were in the USAAF. They were most certainly part of the greatest generation, all of them were.
My uncle was a co-pilot based in England.
He was only 24 years old when his plane crashed, and the entire crew perished.
He was one of many young men who never lived to tell their stories back home.
I have never forgotten the stories my father told me, of his experiences in WWII, and I am still astounded at the bravery of all those men and the women too.
Bless them all. -
Webartads, did you make this video? If so, job well done. I am working with a friend of mine to put together a program for a dinner that will honor U.S. military veterans. During the program, a WWII Medal of Honor winner will be honored and two living WWII veterans will be recognized. My friend saw this video and wanted to know song is playing in the background as he would like to have it playing when a letter from a Brigade commander to a friend is read. You can contact me snichols@insurancecouncil.org if know what song is and playing. Do you know where a person can download (purchase) the song.

Weird how all this just faded away. The greatest generation to ever live and most people today barely keep in mind what they sacrificied, nevermind honoring. To bad they don't build'em like they used to.
