What I would like to ask Yani is if a Turkish government got elected on a mandate to claim the rights to Cyprus would that entitle them to claim the island as wholly theirs because they have a democratic mandate or would he argue that they got elected under false pretences by using a mandate they knew could not be fulfilled. Just because you promise something to the electorate doesn't mean you have a right to that promise being fulfilled. When others don't relinquish to your demands because you have been voted to do that doesn't mean democracy is under threat but just means that you have been elected under false pretences!
4. Democracy is the stupidest political system as ever discovered and ever existed. Monarchy and republic are raw models for this falling apart and immersing in debt world. Democracy is when majority alcoholics and junkies from society have more votes than professors from universities. it's essence of democracy that far more stupid and B & C class intellectual citizens vote through minority of useful and high developed intellectually people. Those countries immerse in deep shit in the end as we able to watch now in EU with all its deviations.
5. I would suggest that a European public broadcasting network should be created without advertisements. With subtitles for all Eu countries. This would help Europe's underline democratic values have more of a presence with debates/discussions.
6. Democracy cannot work as long as the average voter is ignorant about cause and effect, macro economics and monetary systems. For years Greeks voted for politians who promised free lunches and an easy life all paid for with borrowed money. This could never end well but the average voter did'nt care as long as his dinner plate was full for the forseeable future. Democracy rules out good leadership as long as votes have to be bought from masses of ignorant voters on the basis of false promises. Syriza bought the votes of the greeks by promsing to fight the troika, but they were never willing to leave the euro so the trioka always had full control. Syriza was always going to fail. Their election slogan was "Hope is coming". Hope is not a strategy for change. Hope assumes failure, but the voters bought it. The rich always take advantage of the poor, always have, always will. We repeat the same disasters because human nature does not change. Varoufakis is doing much more good now travelling aroung lecturing than he would as Greek finance minister. He may improve the knowledge base of the average voter slightly.

8. Γιανης knows what he is saying about Magna Carta. The reason he was dethroned was due to gallibility of Tsipras that that Yiannis was not a good negotiator. He was dead wrong about this because he effectively gave in to Schäuble's wishes. He had a plan B and he explained in detail what it was. Greece will eventually succumb to bankruptcy because no major foreign company will invest knowing the heavy taxation will eat up whatever profits.

I have been following Yani's public lecturers & interviews since 2011...I hope 1000s of Aussies who are interested in politics, history & economics listen to what he is saying and think about the implications (i.e. a dystopian future for all humanity). At his first meeting of the so called "Eurogroup" what he should have said is that I have been elected by a significant part of the Greek demos to come here & destroy your little cabal as well as end the "extend & pretend" of previous MoUs
